Storm Sign Speedy Forward

The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of 1997 born forward Garret Brisebois for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Storm Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone says the 5’10”, 175 pound Calgary native can play either centre or left wing and local hockey fans will love his style of play.

"We identified Garret at our Calgary camp as a very hard working, tenacious, 200 foot player. His feet are always moving and he looks to make plays with and without the puck. He is a confident hockey player who will be a Campbell River fan favourite because he plays every shift at full speed."

In 37 games last season with the Calgary AA Midget Canucks Brisebois racked up 24 goals and 20 assists (44 points) to go along with 70 minutes in penalties.  He says he’s anxious to get his first taste of junior hockey.

“I am very excited (to join the Storm) as this is a great step forward in my hockey career. I am really looking forward to moving to BC and getting the chance to play for the #1 team in the VIJHL.  I am thrilled to be part of such a winning organization and knowing that we have the opportunity to repeat as league and provincial champions.”

Brisebois has already set some ambitious targets for the upcoming season and beyond.

“My main goal for this year is to get settled in with the team and the league, and post at least 50 points as a rookie. I hope to bring that average to over a point a game in the next years playing in Campbell River. My short term goal is to be a large contributing part of the Storm, and win the league championships at least once during my time with the team. My longer term goals are to obtain a scholarship to a college or University in order to get an education while continuing to play the game I love.”
