In an effort to always allow room to improve, the Campbell River Storm are pleased to announce the hiring of Lee Stone as the team's new Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations.

Lee comes with a pedigree in discovering and recruiting talented players for both Junior and College Hockey. Lee has spent the last two seasons representing the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL as a BC Provincial Scout. In addition, Lee has represented Arizona State University of the ACHA as their Western Canadian Recruiting Co-ordinator for the last 3 seasons.

Lee’s amateur coaching career spans from minor hockey in the cities of Burnaby and Surrey to time spent with the Mission Icebreakers and Port Moody Black Panthers of the PJHL.  Most recently, Lee was on the coaching staff for the Surrey Midget AAA team. Lee has worked with many players at various levels across North America preparing them for success while serving as the Director of Player Personnel for the Pacific Titans for three seasons.

“I am thrilled to be brought on board by the Campbell River Storm. The fan support this community provides to the Storm, is deserving of playoff hockey. We will be a hard working team that drives towards building character on and off the ice,” Lee Stone stated after being hired.

Owner, Kevin Spooner believes: “I have found only one person who equals my passion for the game of Hockey and who is willing to work tirelessly to emerge successful and I believe, I just hired him! Looking forward to working with an articulate, focused and driven professional.”

As a team, we know that the Storm will move forward only when we do so together, and that the responsibility of improving this team remains the task of us all. We believe that the hiring of Lee Stone is the first step in that direction.
