The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce the commitment of 1999 born forward Nolan Welsh for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

Welsh played a total of seven games with the Storm last season (regular and post-season) as an AP. “He’s really intelligent with and without the puck, we’re really excited to have him join us,” said Head Coach Lee Stone.

In 39 games with the Burnaby Winter Club in 2015-16, the 5’ 11” forward showed a nose for the net picking up 43 points, “I’m a speedy winger who likes to play down low in the offensive zone.”

The Whistler hockey product is thrilled to commit to the Campbell River Storm, “I attended camp two years ago, the organization caught my attention because of how classy and professional the program is run. I look forward to every part of it.

Nolan will be attending the Victoria Grizzlies BCHL camp later this summer. That’s where his older brother, and former Storm set up man, Tyler played last season. The younger Welsh has long term hockey aspirations and feels the Storm will help him develop, “I want to improve myself in every possible way and see Campbell River as a logical stepping stone to the BCHL and later a NCAA career.”
