STORM RE-SIGN FORWARD JACK SMITH FOR 2026-27 SEASON
CAMPBELL RIVER, BC — The Campbell River Storm are pleased to announce the re-signing of forward Jack Smith to the team’s 2026-27 roster.
Smith, a 2007-born left-handed forward from Kamloops, BC, put together a strong season with the Storm in 2025-26, posting 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points in 48 games played.
“I re-signed with the Storm to carry on what we started last year and didn’t finish,” said Smith.
The forward pointed to the team’s fanbase and home rink as a major factor in his decision to return.
“I love playing at the Brindy in front of such great fans. I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else,” said Smith.
Smith also made his ambitions for the upcoming season clear.
“I am excited to take care of business and win a 26-27 VIJHL championship. Bring Brent home!” said Smith.
Storm Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone was thrilled to have Smith back in the fold.
“Smitty is a huge returning piece and an absolutely dog on the ice. His high level of compete mixed with grit and tenacity will be a perfect example to younger players about how we want to play this season!” said Stone.
Stone also spoke to Smith’s offensive upside and versatility heading into next season.
“He’s ready for an offensive breakout too. He can play both down the middle and on the wing and is a very versatile player,” said Stone.
Beyond his on-ice contributions, Stone expects Smith to play a key role in shaping the team’s identity.
“We think he’ll be a great leader this season and will help us build the culture we want within the room!” said Stone.
