Storm Sign Declan Zangara from Colorado Thunderbirds U18
Campbell River, BC — The Campbell River Storm are proud to announce the signing of 2008-born forward Declan Zangara from the Colorado Thunderbirds U18 program.
Zangara displayed his game at the most recent SSHL Tournament, tallying 3 points in 5 games played.
“I’m excited about this opportunity in a new town and my first year of junior,” said Zangara.
“I’m really excited to get to know the guys and coming to the rink everyday,” Zangara added.
“Fans can expect to see a hard-nosed playmaker that can defend very well,” said Zangara of his style of play.
Storm Head Coach and General Manager Lee Stone detailed how the signing came together.
“Declan was somewhat of an unknown to us coming into this past weekend. Tynan Peacock reached out to me saying Declan was interested in playing this season. From there, we had a couple of great conversations with Declan,” said Stone.
“He made the effort to come up here uncommitted and impressed throughout the tournament with his physical, gritty style of game,” Stone continued.
“He is a prototypical power forward and is quite raw as he’s just started playing forward. We are really excited to work with Declan this season!” Stone added.
The Storm look forward to welcoming Declan Zangara to Campbell River for the 2026-27 season.
